The final results are in!

Globally, the City Nature Challenge made 2,436,844 observations from 65,682+ species, including more than 3,940+ rare/endangered/threatened species!

In London, we made 4135 observations from 852 different species and had 163 participants. That puts us in 3rd in Ontario, 9th in Canada and 127th globally out of 690 cities!

Thanks again to everybody that participated! I hope that you enjoyed having the chance to get out in nature and appreciate the biodiversity that we have here in London.

Although the City Nature Challenge has wrapped, please don't forget that you can continue to make iNaturalist observations year-round to help document our local species.

I hope to see you out again for the City Nature Challenge in 2025!

I just wanted to send a reminder that the City Nature Challenge starts on Friday!

There are 2 ways to get involved:

1) Make iNaturalist observations anywhere in London from April 26th to 29th and your observations will automatically be added into the City Nature Challenge 2024: London, ON project and count toward our total observations for the competition.

2) Join us on a guided nature walk to learn more about our local species and make iNaturalist observations along the trail. Nature walk details and registration is available at -

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to let you all know that London will be participating in the City Nature Challenge again this year! The City Nature Challenge is a friendly international competition to see which city can make the most observations on iNaturalist in a 4-day window. Over 40 Canadian cities participate and over 450 around the world. Last year, London placed 2nd in Ontario with 3797 observations! Thanks to all of you that participated!

This year, the City Nature Challenge runs from April 26th to 29th. We would love to have you involved!

There are 2 ways to get involved:
